FAQ
What are the benefits of using carbon fiber for an outdoor chair?
- Carbon fiber offers the best strength to weight ratio of any available material. It doesn't absorb water or dirt, has very high UV resistance, and very high resistance to short term exposure to high heat, like embers from a fire. These properties make the X6 easy to carry and clean, stable to sit on, and durable enough for years of adventure.
How much does the X6 chair weigh?
- The Rova X6 chair weighs approximately 2 lbs, making it extremely lightweight and easy to transport.
How compact is the X6 when packed?
- The X6 is designed to nest down into a compact size, occupying roughly the same cubic inches as most traditional backpacking chairs, but in a rectangular sheet shape rather than a cylinder. The nested dimensions are approximately 25.5 inches long by 11.5 inches wide and less than 1/2 inch thick.
Is the X6 comfortable to sit on?
- Yes, even with its lightweight and compact design, the X6 is designed for comfort with ergonomic seating and supportive features. The most common reaction we get when people sit in the chair for the first time is "I can't believe how comfortable this is."
How durable is the X6 chair?
- The X6 is designed to be durable and withstand outdoor conditions and the rigors of hiking and camping. Our chair can support up to 400 lbs and won’t burn, tear, snap, or permanently bend under normal use conditions.
Is the X6 easy to set up and pack away?
- Yes, the X6 is designed for quick setup and take down. It can be set up/taken down in a matter of seconds—seriously, like 2-3 seconds.
Is the X6 suitable for all types of terrain?
- Yes, the X6 is versatile and can be used on a variety of terrains, from rocky surfaces to soft ground, thanks to its stable design and large surface area feet.
Why is the X6 so expensive?
- Carbon fiber is more expensive than most other materials that a product can be made from. There's no getting around that one. There's also no other material that our chair could be made from that could achieve even close to the same durability and strength-to-weight ratio as the X6. It's a premium chair built to deliver premium performance.
